Hays + Sons would like to extend our regrets concerning the recent damage to your property. We are committed to assisting you throughout the entire process of restoring your property to its pre-loss condition.
The process of restoring your property has begun or will begin in the immediate future. For your reference, we have outlined the next steps to help guide you through the process of completing your project in a timely fashion. We are committed to working directly with you and your insurance carrier to provide you with the best service in the industry.

Hays and Sons mission is to provide exceptional service to our customers during their time of need, while sustaining a culture of excellence.
PHASE I – EMERGENCY SERVICES
- Review paperwork and sign the authorization form allowing Hays + Sons (Hays) to begin emergency services
- Hays will document loss through photos, sketches and measurements
- Upon successful completion of the emergency services, Hays will send our estimate to you and or your insurance company for approval
- Once our estimate is approved by your insurance company, Hays will bill and collect for services provided
TEMPORARY BOARD UP
- Hays will board up and/or tarp any areas of the property exposed to the elements
- Hays will clean up or section off any debris from the loss that may cause injury
- Hays will ensure property is secured before leaving
- Depending on the severity of the loss, Hays may utilize the services of plumbers, electricians, etc. to prevent additional damage to your property
WATER EXTRACTION / DRY OUT
- Hays will identify areas affected by water and will give you a preliminary game plan
- Hays will begin water extraction and/or setting air movers and dehumidifiers as necessary
- After all necessary equipment is set, Hays will inspect the affected areas on a regular basis until it is determined to be dry based on recorded moisture readings
Items for consideration:
- To Expedite the drying process:
- Demolition, blocking of furniture and content manipulation may be necessary
- Please keep all equipment turned on
- Temperature of you property:
- It may need to be adjusted to help drying process
- Dehumidifiers can cause an increase in temperature at your property
- Circuit breakers may trip due to increased power demand – If this occurs please contact us as soon as possible
- SAFETY of your property – please be mindful of electrical cords, moving mechanical parts, wet spots on flooring and equipment being set up
PHASE II – STRUCTURAL ESTIMATE
- Structural estimator will assess the damage to the property and give you an overview of the repairs that are needed
- Structural estimator will write an estimate if you are interested in Hays handling the repairs
- Structural estimator will work with the insurance adjuster for estimate approval
- You sign the Repair Authorization and a Project Manager will be assigned to manage the repairs once the down payment is collected
PHASE III – PROJECT MANAGER
- Project manager will arrange a pre-construction meeting with you
- Project manager will review the structural estimate and answer any questions
- Project manager will set a timeline to complete repairs
- Project manager will be in constant communication to provide status of repairs
- Project manager will finish all repairs to your satisfaction as listed on the estimate
PHASE IV - FINAL WALK THROUGH
- Final meeting with your Project Manager
- You will review and sign all necessary documentation
- Statement of Satisfaction
- Warranty documentation
- Final estimate
- Fill out punch list items if necessary
- Project manager will take final photos of the work performed
- Project Manager will collect final payment(s) to Hays
